Dance
Livia Politi graduated from the Folkwang Arts University, under the direction of Pina Bausch.
She continued her education in Dance, Composition and Klein Technique at the Limón Institute and Movement Research in New York where she also danced for Carlos Orta’s Dance Company Choreoart, and worked as a freelance choreographer.Livia has worked as dancer, choreographer, choreographer-assistant and company trainer for dance and theater companies with directors Henrietta Horn, Marco Antonio Silva, George Camerun, Michel Descombey ,Gladiola Orozco and Geraldine Cardiel among others, in Germany, New York, Mexico and Argentina.
Focused on teaching dance, choreography and improvisation, Livia has taught at Dock11 studios for several years, was a teacher in the Seneca Intensive training program and an assistant professor in the bachelor’s program at the Universität der Künste Berlin (HZT).
She currently teaches at Jo Siska Studio-fuer-kuenstlerischen-Tanz
and in Studio 142 at the Kunstquartier Bethanien.
Since 2010, Livia is also a certified Alexander Technique teacher, offers private lessons in her studio in Berlin Mitte and since 2022 she is a teacher at the Barenboim-Said Academy.
